Honey Glazed Orange-Ginger Shrimp

This vibrant and flavorful dish combines the natural sweetness of Goldswarm Honey with zesty orange juice and fragrant ginger. The result is a beautifully glazed shrimp dish that’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal or an elegant dinner. Pair it with hot steamed Jasmine or Basmati rice for a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Serves: 4 to 6

Ingredients

    • 1 lb. large peeled and deveined shrimp (20-25 count)
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon finely diced ginger
    • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
    • ½ teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder (plus extra for garnish)
    • 1 cup orange juice
    • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
    • 2 tablespoons Goldswarm Honey
    • 1 tablespoon canola oil or grapeseed oil
    • ¼ cup finely chopped scallions

    Method

    1. Marinate the Shrimp
      • In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, and soy sauce.
      • Marinate for about 20 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
    2. Prepare the Sauce
      • In a measuring cup, mix the orange juice and Goldswarm Honey.
      • Slowly stir in the cornstarch until it is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
    3. Cook the Shrimp
      • Heat the oil in a deep sauté pan or Chinese wok over high heat.
      • Add the marinated shrimp and sauté for 2-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and translucent.
    4. Add the Sauce
      • Pour the orange-honey cornstarch mixture into the pan with the shrimp.
      • Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze that coats the shrimp.
    5. Serve
      • Transfer the shrimp and sauce to a serving dish.
      • Dust lightly with additional Chinese five-spice powder and garnish with chopped scallions.
      • Serve hot with steamed Jasmine or Basmati rice for a complete meal.
